چکیده

An assignment of integer numbers to the vertices of a given graph under certain conditions is referred to as a graph labeling. The assignment of labels from the set {0,1,2,...,2 1} q to the vertices of G (with ( ) G n V vertices and ( ) q E G edges) such that, when each edge has assigned a label defined by the absolute difference of its end-points, the resulting edge labels are 1,3 ,2 1 q is referred to as an odd graceful labeling of the graph. In 2000, Kathiresan [13] used the notation ; n m P to denote the graph (spider graph) obtained by identifying the end points of m paths each one has length n , we use the notation m n C ; to denote the graph (closed spider) obtained by identifying the other end points of the graph ; n m P . In this article, we present three algorithms to show how to odd gracefully label the vertices and the edges of the following graphs; 2 1; , 1 5, 2 r m P r m , the closed spider m n C ; , and the graphs obtained by joining one or two paths m P to each vertex of the path n P .

Constructing Graceful Graphs with Caterpillars

A graceful labeling of a graph G of size n is an injective assignment of integers from {0, 1,..., n} to the vertices of G, such that when each edge of G has assigned a weight, given by the absolute dierence of the labels of its end vertices, the set of weights is {1, 2,..., n}. If a graceful labeling f of a bipartite graph G assigns the smaller labels to one of the two stable sets of G, then f ...

Snakes and Caterpillars in Graceful Graphs

Graceful labelings use a prominent place among difference vertex labelings. In this work we present new families of graceful graphs all of them obtained applying a general substitution result. This substitution is applied here to replace some paths with some trees with a more complex structures. Two caterpillars with the same size are said to be textit{analogous} if thelarger stable sets, in bo...

Approximation Algorithms for Channel Assignment with Constraints

Cellular networks are generally modeled as node-weighted graphs, where the nodes represent cells and the edges represent the possibility of radio interference. An algorithm for the channel assignment problem must assign as many channels as the weight indicates to every node, such that any two channels assigned to the same node satisfy the co-site constraint, and any two channels assigned to adj...

Graceful labelings of the generalized Petersen graphs

A graceful labeling of a graph $G=(V,E)$ with $m$ edges is aninjection $f: V(G) rightarrow {0,1,ldots,m}$ such that the resulting edge labelsobtained by $|f(u)-f(v)|$ on every edge $uv$ are pairwise distinct. For natural numbers $n$ and $k$, where $n > 2k$, a generalized Petersengraph $P(n, k)$ is the graph whose vertex set is ${u_1, u_2, cdots, u_n} cup {v_1, v_2, cdots, v_n}$ and its edge set...

META-HEURISTIC ALGORITHMS FOR MINIMIZING THE NUMBER OF CROSSING OF COMPLETE GRAPHS AND COMPLETE BIPARTITE GRAPHS

The minimum crossing number problem is among the oldest and most fundamental problems arising in the area of automatic graph drawing. In this paper, eight population-based meta-heuristic algorithms are utilized to tackle the minimum crossing number problem for two special types of graphs, namely complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs. A 2-page book drawing representation is employed for ...
